Y-strainers: Y-Strainers take their name from their configuration. Y-Strainers are cast in sizes ¼” – 24” with Threaded, Socket Weld or Flanged End connections. Y-Strainers are your most economical choice for large debris removal. They are most commonly used in pressurized lines, gas or liquid, but can also be used in suction or vacuum conditions. Y-Strainer has the advantage of being able to be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position. However, in both cases, the screening element or "leg" must be on the "downside" of the strainer body so that entrapped solids can be properly collected and held. Bucket Strainers: Bucket Strainer is a closed vessel with cleanable or removable screen or element for removing particles from liquids or gases. Drain connection provided to remove accumulated particles or solids. Basket strainer is used where cleaning may occur frequently; it stands to reason that the basket should be able to be removed and replaced as simply as possible. The strainer cover is held down by a clamping yoke which is sturdy enough to hold full line pressure and yet, which can be quickly loosened or tightened by hand. Bolted covers are also furnished with basket strainers and they cost less than yoke covers. All baskets are easily removable & cleanable. Duplex Strainers: Duplex strainers can be fabricated to any specifications. Carbon steel and stainless steel bodies are available Flanged off line connections are std. Covers are similar to simplex basket strainers. These strainers have been designed to answer the specific need for continuous operation. Duplex arrangement ensures that when one strainer chokes the flow gets diverted through another strainer and the choked strainer can be cleaned and ready for use when the next strainer chokes. Free straining area is minimum 6 times pipe CS area. 6mm hole dia perforated outer filter element lined with 40 mesh inner filter element is standard. Other filter elements can also be supplied on request. Outer filter element provides for strength of the filter screen and the mesh is spot welded to provide for adequate strength.
