Patiala-based S S Tools manufactures precision gear shaving cutters and gear shaper cutters in its range of pre-shaved tools-hobs. The former comes in various types such as conventional, diagonal, underpass with special profiles on the cutter to generate tip relief on the component. The company also undertakes precision re-sharpening of shaving cutters. These confirm to accuracy class of BS 2007-1975. The latter is of disc type, designed for producing spur, splines, sprockets and helical gears. These are available with pre-ground automobile gears with combination of features like protuberance and semi-topping. Shank type and hub type internal shaper cutters can also be offered against specific request. Normally accuracy classes are AA, A as per DIN 1829.
