Mech-Well Industries manufactures additional flexible seals as well as regular seals – a full contact air heater sealing system. Additional flexible seals conform to the sector plate, reducing the gap between the seal surfaces and sector plates (hot end side), thereby maintaining the air pressure in air heater. This gap is normally found with fixed position OEM radial seals. In various powerhouses additional flexible seals are invariably ordered along with radial and axial seals. The repeat orders that we are getting from the powerhouses speak for their performance. The company keeps Corten steel –A, SS 304 and hastelloy C276 raw materials in stock to meet the requirements of its customers. For every % drop in air heater leakage, approximately 2?F increase in temperature is expected, replacement of flexible seal is faster, OEM seals cause excessive wear on wear bars during start ups. No such excessive wear is incurred
