The ‘CMH’ combination hob consists of 2 hobs, integrally made as one single hob but designed to cut different modules of gears or the combination of gears and the splines. These hobs are specifically design as per customer’s components, which will reduce tool inventories. The ‘CMH’ combination hob is really a boon for development of new component or project items – where initial batch quantity is small and there is always un-certainty for getting bulk order. By using ‘CMH’ combination hobs, it is now made possible to cut gears of different modules or combination of gears and splines with a single ‘CMH’ shank type or bore type combination hob. The company has made this innovation specifically to reduce the initial tooling cost especially for new project tooling, where a single hob can be used for cutting 8 to 10 gears of different number of teeth having different modules and also the splines of different number of teeth. CMH Tools is a specialist in the field of precision gear cutting tools, combining the competences of its R&D team, design and development team and the expertise from collaborators to design, develop and manufacture combination hobs. This pooled expertise enables the company to design, develop and manufacture economical special tooling solutions (hobs, shapers, MG and shaving cutters) for the manufacture of modern precision gears from up to 20 module with special HSS or PM material.
