Schaeffler India, a leading motion technology company, has reinforced its localisation strategy by expanding its industrial range with Made-in-India large-size Spherical Roller Bearings (SRBs), Cast Steel Housings, and related accessories. These products are manufactured at Schaeffler India’s advanced plant in Savli, Gujarat, as part of its effort to boost domestic production.

This development marks a notable enhancement of the company’s offering for demanding applications in sectors such as Steel, Cement, Mining, Power Plants, and Pulp & Paper.

The current India-made range includes Spherical Roller Bearings with outer diameters up to 720 mm across the 222, 223, 230, 231, 240, and 241 series. Produced to X-life quality standards, these bearings deliver higher load capacities, better performance, reduced friction, and extended operational life.

Additionally, the company has introduced large Cast Steel Housings, Adapter Sleeves, Withdrawal Sleeves, and Hydraulic Sleeves, enabling OEMs and consultants to access a complete system from a single source. Designed for extreme conditions, the housings feature advanced sealing, internal lubrication grooves, and options for sensor and auto-lubricator mounting, ensuring greater durability, performance, and ease of maintenance.

Commenting on the launch, Seshan Iyer, President – Bearings and Industrial Solutions, said the initiative underscores Schaeffler’s Make-in-India vision and its emphasis on manufacturing excellence backed by local engineering and R&D. Localising these critical components enhances accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness for Indian customers.

The comprehensive solution includes bearings, housings, sleeves, sealing systems, lubricants, and condition monitoring tools—positioning Schaeffler as a reliable single-window provider of motion solutions. These offerings will benefit core industrial applications including conveyors, stacker reclaimers, gearboxes, crushers, and pulp systems.
