Pyramid coils manufactured by Allied Electrical Industries are available from wire gauge 46 to 6 SWG. These are specialised in edge winding (vertical winding) of strips. The coils are provided with insulation to suit customers' requirements. Also manufactured are resin moulded coils, insulated for 660 V to 1500 V. Typical uses are in breakers, contactors, solenoids, clutches, magnets, etc. Strip wound coils are used in high current sources like furnace transformers, rectifiers, etc.
