Cartidge Heaters Highloaded

Cartidge Heaters Highloaded

The high loaded cartridge heaters are high watt density cartridge heaters and are constructed using nickel chrome alloy sheath and heliarc welded end discs. A high quality resistance wire is peripherally wound on a magnesium oxide core and compacted magnesium oxide insulates the resistance coil in close proximity to the sheath providing highly efficient heat transfer to the heavy wall sheath. This ensures that the resistance wire runs at lower temperature than the units with loose fill insulation resulting in much longer life. The heavy duty construction also provides high dielectric strength as well as shock and vibration resistance required for many industrial applications. These cartridge heaters are used primarily for insertion into solid heat transferring components such as die blocks, platens, moulds, heat sealing tools, injection and extrusion barrels and packaging machinery. These cartridge heaters are available with incoloy and stainless steel sheath. Semi flexible leads are standard but a variety of lead constructions and mounting devices are available. Heaters are also available with internal thermocouples. With watt densities up to 62 W/cm² (400 W/in²), part temperatures up to 870°C can be achieved with incoloy sheath and up to 540°C with SS sheaths. Standard diameters are Œ, 3/8, œ, 5/8 lengths from 1" to 48" and wattage up to 5000 W.
