National Electrical Industry (International Marketing Division) offers Brushless DC Motors (BLDC). The construction of BLDC motors is the same as per AC servo motors, i.e., stator has distributed winding and rotor having permanent magnets but its characteristics are very different because in AC, servo sine wave is given in motor, whereas in brushless DC trapezoidal wave form (square wave) is given in motor, therefore it is called brushless DC. These motors have taken centre stage in vehicle/automotive industry, where battery operated vehicles run. Vehicles reach from stationary to high speed acceleration within 3 to 5 seconds due to their characteristics. The company is offering these motors in 120 W, 250 W, 500 W, 1 kW, 2 kW and 3 kW because above 3 kW no one is manufacturing its controls. These motors, within 3 years will also take centre stage. They can directly run on solar and wind energy, i.e., DC supply. These motors are closed loop and have 94% efficiency with unity power factor.
