SciTech Corporation offers an Instant Brass/Copper Cleaner and Brightener, BFC 140. Brass and copper are versatile metals with many excellent physical, mechanical and electrical properties. Unfortunately, precisely the same chemical characteristics which make these metals corrosion-resistant, also cause them to oxidise and tarnish, giving them a dull, unattractive appearance. De-oxidising, cleaning and brightening brass and copper components is a vexing problem faced by all manufacturers who work with these metals. BFC 140 instant brass/copper cleaner and brightener has been specifically developed to solve this problem. The components are treated by simple dipping, spraying or in a vibratory/centrifugal mass finishing machine. BFC 140 works rapidly, giving a bright lustrous finish with natural colour tonality and good tarnish resistance. It gives a superior finish at a cost-to-performance ration lower than most conventional products. For manufacturers, this means a better- finished brass or copper component at a lower cost – factors directly translating to higher sales and profits. Unlike other conventional brass/copper cleaners which are based on strong mineral acids and other harsh chemical compounds, BFC 140 is relatively mild and safe, both in the work place as well as when disposed to the sewer.
