Braided Gland Packings, PTFE (FDA Grade)
MAS Sealing Systems offers pure PTFE (FDA grade) non-asbestos Braided Gland Packings. The MAS 23 gland packing is pure PTFE yarn treated with PTFE dispersion to provide a low-friction finish and prevent leakage through the braid. Resisting most caustic media, it is a firm, pliable wear-resistant packing that can be used where purity and safety count, in food processing, chemical industries, etc. Used with a control system, it is particularly suitable for steam, gases, air, oils, solvents, alkalis, acids and viscous fluids (not recommended for oxygen services), it also offers advantages on control valves where low stem friction must be combined with leak-free operation. Other features include: self-lubrication, good heat conduction, high dimensional stability, and a broad temperature and pressure range. The packing has dimensional and chemical stability to a wide range of pH (from 0 to 14) and temperatures up to 260°C, and can withstand pressures up to 5000 PSI. The packings come in a range of dimensions.
