OKS 240 consists of micro-fine copper flakes and other metal powders homogenised to a paste with a special carrier oil and a synthetic thickener. The controlled size and shape of the copper flakes coupled with its purity help in keeping the paste malleable over a wide temperature range. Fields of its application are: Assembly lubrication of screwjoints subject to high temperature and corrosive environment, eg, at internal combustion engines, threaded connections on pipes, flanges and amateurs, exhausts and combustion chambers, bolts for gas and oil burning equipment. OKS 240 prevents caking, seizing or rust caused by high temperature even after prolonged operation; provides optimum combination of screw tightening torque and achievable screw pretension; and ensures reliable non-destructive dismantling. OKS 240 is suitable for operation in the temperature range of -30?C to +1100?C. It is completely resistant to water, sea water and steam. It meets MIL specification No: MIL-A-907E. It is electrically conductive, highly resistant to oxidation and inhibits corrosion. It is lead-free. While OKS 240 is available in various container sizes ranging from 1/4 kg to 20 kg, the aerosol version namely OKS 241, facilitates application on surfaces that are difficult to reach.
