Timing Belts

  • These belts are best be described as belts with integrally moulded teeth on the inside which makes positive engagement with axially grooved pulley.
  • Synchronous belts are also known as timing belts or positive drive belts; synchronous belt drive is not considered as a substitute or replacement for other modes of belt drives.
  • These belts are offered in three different teeth profiles: classical timing belt (CT), second is high torque drive (HTD) and super torque drive (STD) belt.
  • The classical synchronous belt has trapezoidal teeth profile while HTD has curvilinear or spherical teeth profile and STD has modified curvilinear tooth profile.
  • Due to difference in teeth profile as well as in their torque transmitting capability, these belts can be interchanged; this unique feature enables it for use in positive drive, resulting in precise movement of drive components.
