Fluid Bed Dryers

  • These systems provide for drying materials through fluidisation using hot/dehumidified air that creates turbulence in wet product while flowing through it The fluidisation velocity can be judiciously selected, to minimise entertainment of the smaller particles, to avoid gas bubbling in the fluid bed thereby minimising attrition; the residence time can be adjusted, by varying the bed height, through the overflow weir position
  • Fluid bed dryer comprises of a top fluidising chamber and a bottom air distribution chamber separated by a specially designed perforated plate
  • PMI FBD offers better control on fluidisation, residence time, product moisture and dust levels; PMI FBD are applied for particles between 50 microns and 5 mm; In PMI FBD drying and cooling in a single step.
