With its embedded solutions, industrial motherboards, and custom products, the company is eyeing growth from sectors like medical, defence, retail, factory automation, traffic management, etc, says Rakesh Rao.
Taiwan's DFI to open repair & service center in India

Taiwan-based motherboard maker DFI Inc will open its repair and service center in India this year, said the company officials during their participation at the recently concluded Automation Expo 2024 in Mumbai. “DFI established its local sales contact about 18 months back, and now we are in process of opening our office and repair & services center in India this year. This will help us in quicker turnaround time for delivering our products and services," said Sally Li, APAC Sales Division General Manager, DFI Inc.

Specialised in mainboard design, DFI's long-life embedded solutions, industrial motherboards, and custom products find applications in sectors like medical, factory automation, traffic management, etc. These products adhere to Indian government standards as they are certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). "We have realised the huge offered by India and are committed to this market for our long-term growth prospects. We see big market for our factory automation solutions in the country with the Indian manufacturing sector exhibiting strong growth and companies here are opting for automation and digitalised solutions for enhancing their competitiveness globally," stated Alexander Su, President, DFI Inc.   

Sally Li added, "Besides industrial automation, defence and medical applications present big market for us. We are known for providing high-quality products as well as services to our customers. We are building a robust network of distributors in India who can be close to the customers and fulfil their requirements quickly."

At Automation Expo, DFI highlighted a range of products such as robotics, machine vision systems, etc which are suited for meeting the requirements of modern, automated factories. Besides, it showcased Windows on ARM solutions and kioks for Indian retailers. DFI also displayed a Smart Traffic Management System (ITMS), developed in collaboration with the Noida-based Metafusion, for the Indian market.
