Flex bus bar is an electrical interconnection system for battery packs, capacitor and super-capacitor banks that both makes the power connections between the cells and collects information on each cell by a single customised device.

Flex bus bars are of prime use in the energy storage sector (typically battery manufacturers). The data from each battery cell, both power and monitoring signal, is integrated into Flex bus bars - it is just a Plug & Play bus bar.

Flex bus bars are of major use to Lithium based cell (Li-ion, Li-Po, LiFePo4) designers and manufacturers for making assembly in to the application.

Assembly time is reduced as power and signal connections are integrated with a unique device. This enables conduction of more power than PCB solutions because of the possibility to integrate water cooling systems on the Flex bus bar for thermal dissipation. Space is optimised because the water cooling system can reduce the copper sections needed for the power connections

Flex bus bar can be engineered to fit systems from a few Watts up to several mega Watts. There is no real voltage/current limitation since a single insulation layer has a dielectric strength above 18 kV AC

The design rule (current density) for Cu bus bars is 5 A/mm? below 300 A, and depends on specific charts above 300 A, to take into account overheating risk.

Flex bus bars can fit to a continuous minimal temperature of -40?C and to a continuous maximal temperature of +220?C.

Flex bus bar can be screwed, clipped or soldered with tin (Sn) on battery cells, capacitors or super-capacitors, according to customer's requirements
