Godavari Biorefineries Limited (BSE: 544279 | NSE: GODAVARIB), an integrated biorefinery, has commenced commercial operations at its new 200,000-litre-per-day corn and grain-based distillery at the Sameerwadi unit in Karnataka.

The Rs 1.3 billion facility increases the site’s total ethanol production capacity to 800,000 litres per day, adding 60 million litres of annual capacity.

By integrating grain processing with its existing sugarcane operations, the Sameerwadi facility can switch between raw materials based on seasonal availability. This operational flexibility protects production volumes from feedstock and climate-related disruptions.

With the commissioning of the distillery, Godavari has strengthened its ability to deliver consistently across ethanol, bio-based speciality chemicals and renewable energy using multiple agricultural feedstocks.
