IPF invites nominations for Industrial Excellence Awards 2018

Last year, 28 SMEs from 18 cities received Industrial Excellence Awards for product innovations and fastest growing companies.

Industrial Products Finder (IPF), India’s largest circulated industrial magazine established in 1972, has announced the launch of the Third Edition of IPF Industrial Excellence Awards 2018 and is inviting for nominations for innovative products and fastest growing companies categories (in medium and small enterprises segment). In addition, the IPF Personality of the Year will also be presented to the individual, who has made inspiring contribution to the industry to which he/she belongs to.

For Fastest Growing Manufacturing Companies Awards, nominations will be a mix of self-nomination and companies selected based on data sourced from BSE & NSE. On the other hand, for Product Excellence Awards, nominations are received directly from the companies.

The winners are selected through a rigorous process by a jury panel comprising eminent personalities from the industry and engineering institute. The Awards function will be held on December 14, 2018 in Mumbai.

Awards 2017 recognised 38 SMEs

During the Second Edition of IPF Industrial Excellence Awards, held on December 20, 2017 at BSE, Mumbai, 28 SMEs from 18 cities received the awards. ASAPP Info Global Group, the publisher of IPF magazine, also presented the IPF Personality of the Year award to Dr Babu Padmanabhan, Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer of STEER Engineering, for his inspiring contribution to the plastics industry.

IPF Industrial Excellence Awards 2017 was held in the grand presence of chief guest Sanjay Sethi, CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC); Ajay Thakur, Head SME, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE); and Bhavesh Thakkar, Associate Partner - Tax & Regulatory, Ernst & Young India.

Congratulating the winners, Sanjay Sethi, CEO, MIDC, said, “The contribution of manufacturing to GDP is growing in India due to the steps taken by governments (both by the Centre as well as the State). Manufacturing sector offers a more sustainable economic growth as it provides employment to large number of people. Events like IPF Industrial Excellence Awards encourage industrial activities, thus contributing to the economic growth.”

Highlighting the significance of the awards, Pratap Padode, Founder & President, Foundation of Infrastructure Research Studies Training (FIRST), informed, “SMEs, who play a very important role in the country’s growth story, need support in two areas. First is technology (to maintain quality and be competitive globally) and second is finance. Industrial Products Finder aims to encourage product innovation and better business practices through the IPF Industrial Excellence Awards.”

While Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) was the Exchange Partner for this year’s IPF Industrial Excellence Awards, Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) and Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers Association (ITAMMA) were the supporting partners.
