Instamod Airpipe entered Indian market in January 2015, when it started supplying technology of aluminium pipe, an already known product in India. Today, the company has 9% share in aluminium pipe market with 130 km (a distance equivalent between Delhi and Bawal in Rajasthan) of piping running in India.

 

“In its third year of operation, Airpipe’s turnover is expected to reach double figure by end of this FY. The company, with 25 employees including all departments, has 33 dealers across length and breadth of India,” said Santosh Kumar, Managing Director, Instamod Airpipe Pvt Ltd.

 

Leading companies from sectors such as mobile, automobile, automation, pharmaceutical, wood-working, machine tools, textile, foundry, printing, packaging, food processing, etc rely on Airpipe for their aluminium pipe requirements.

 

The popularity wouldn’t have possible without the new added feature given by Airpipe in India. In addition to aluminium piping, the company provides fittings in aluminium die casted with double ring sealing one of NBR and another of flouro rubber which gives more resistance to temperature and pressure.

 

The company also gives crub screw. This facility is given as FOC (Free of Cost) basis and to help the customer to have more confident in Airpipe. That is the reason Airpipe’s customer base has increased from 0 to 2000 in 3 years time.

 

As of now, collectively all aluminium manufacturers are doing business close to Rs 100 crore for compressed air pipe line. But this is very small number. The industry loses order against the old technology of GI/MS pipe & plastic pipes worth 50% every year. The aluminium pipe business still has good potential in Indian market keeping in mind it is corrosion-less and offers zero leakage, very optimal pressure drop, 10 years warranty, 30% energy saving as against conventional piping etc.

 

In India, retrofitting could be big game changer. Old factories (operating for more than 30 years) add compressor whenever they found difficulty in pressure drop. They never work upon the old conventional pipe line which is the big culprit in taking away big money from their pocket. Airpipe is the third most rated brand in India. The company is confident to become most preferred brand one day in the Indian market.

 

The company is 3-year old in India, but has made a good impression on its customers with its quality. With subsidiaries in Europe and the US, Airpipe has received many certifications such as ISO 8573-2010  Class:I, CE, ISO 9001.2000, UL94-2013, updated TUV certificate, etc for all sizes. “We have set some volume target for India, which at present we are being fulfilled through imports. After attaining this target, we would embark upon Make in India program and feed our customers from products made in India. This would be possible by FY18-19 only,” said Santosh Kumar.

 

The company has added another product - SS piping AQUA pipe in its product range. Instamod Airpipe has already got few installations in Indian market. The technology is different from others presently available in the Indian market like from 15-50 mm dual pressing fittings, uniform ring grab steadiness quick and modular installation and from 63-250 mm Clampshell Union Connector for quick install & re-assembly. “We have both variants’ for water silicon seal and for Air NBR seals. In addition, we can offer AQUA pipe in 304 & 316L also as per customer demand. With this product, we are eyeing big business in India (since others still have welding technology in SS and AQUA pipe has an edge over 

this technology). We hope to make big impression in the market of SS very soon. As we grow we would set up our another new warehouse either in South or West to improve delivery which is demand of the hour from customer,” said Santosh Kumar.
