What are the different types of Surface Engineering Solutions available from Gala?

Gala offers complete system for surface deburring, polishing and cleaning solutions for all types of components and industrial machined parts used in automotive, aerospace, defence, surgical, coin blank, bearing, fastener, consumer and fashionable products..

For deburring and polishing requirements, systems offered from Gala Precision with required customisation are:

• Vibratory finishing machines.
• Centrifugal barrel finishing machines.
• Disc finishing machines and complete systems.

In addition to this we also offer complete automated systems with deburring media & compounds.

What is the basic difference between each and how does a user select the most suitable system?

Vibratory finishing machines are majorly used to remove burr from metal parts after machining, stamping or casting process. Vibratory machines are suitable for small and medium size parts (parts weighing up to 8-10 kg). Centrifugal Barrel Finishing machines are used for polishing small parts to achieve smooth surface finish (Ra value up to 0.05 microns). Disc Finishing machines are used for deburring and mirror polishing of parts like coin blanks, chain parts, medical implants, precision machined parts. Complete automation is possible in all finishing machines. We understand customer requirement thus based on the sampling and testing in our lab, we suggest best machine to meet their requirements.

Gala also offers cleaning machines - what is the type and range available?

We offer complete range of parts cleaning machines:

• Spray Cleaning - Conveyorised, Rotary Basket type and Customised spray cleaning.
• Ultrasonic Cleaning - Table Top Type & Multistage ultrasonic machine with automation. In ultrasonic cleaning machines
• we can offer machines as big as 5000 ltr capacity, and Single Chamber Multiprocess (SCMP) systems.

These cleaning machines are capable of achieving Millipore value of < 0.1 mg/sq cm..

The company is also known for the media and other consumables. What is the specialty of these products?

Media and compounds are required in deburring, polishing and cleaning operations. For deburring and finishing we offer wide range of finishing media of different types and sizes as per finishing needs, i.e., plastic, porcelain, steel, ceramic, glass and drying media. For polishing applications we provide high quality porcelain media. Every media is high quality and have its own uniqueness in mass finishing.

Compounds are added to mass finishing processes to assist in deburring, burnishing, cutting, cleaning, descaling and inhibiting corrosion. Neutral/Alkaline/Acidic deburring and cleaning compounds are available with us to cater wide range of applications.

What is the Company's history and achievements?

Gala Precision was established in 1989 at Baroda (Vadodara), India with a great vision of delivering complete solution in parts finishing and cleaning across all industries. In 1992, Gala Precision became the first company to introduced Centrifugal Finishing Machines in India for achieving precision finish in short cycle time. In 2000, it became the first Indian company to achieve ISO 9001 in Mass Finishing. In 2004 and 2005, we were the first to develop Flow Through system and elliptical Vibratory Deburring machine. In 2015, the company designed and developed Asia's largest centrifugal finishing machine for parts accelerator project of Raja Ramanna Centre and many defence projects. All through these years we have gained strength in manufacturing, designing and engineering of surface improvement technology and product quality. The outcome is as follows:

With the improvement in the economic scenario especially with "Make in India", we are expecting big developments and great scope of opportunities. Revival in auto sector is important for growth. Aerospace and defence sectors offer a big opportunity in near future.

The Indian market and society are rapidly changing and new segments of customers are emerging. Our mass finishing and cleaning solutions are tailored to suit the ever increasing demands of modern manufacturing environment and not driven only by standard product line. Thus, we are more focussed on complete system with customisation besides standard product line only. In continuation with this, we are going to focus on waste water filtration systems of global standards within our complete surface improvement systems range.
