Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited, a leading enterprise in the rail and infrastructure sector, has announced the award of an order valued at Rs 1290.9 mn from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The project covers the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 2x25 KV traction overhead equipment (OHE) and allied works in the Yavatmal–Digras section of the Nagpur Division, Central Railways.

The project is to be completed within 18 months and marks an important step in Maharashtra’s railway electrification efforts. This order strengthens Texmaco’s growing role in India’s modernisation of rail infrastructure and reinforces its standing as a reliable provider of complex engineering solutions in transport and mobility.

Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman & Executive Director, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, said, “This order highlights Texmaco’s engineering strengths and our alignment with India’s goal of sustainable, self-reliant infrastructure. Electrifying vital corridors is about more than assets; it is about enabling connectivity, efficiency, and progress. This project reflects our dedication to the Make in India initiative and our contribution to Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

As India accelerates its infrastructure ambitions under Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, Texmaco Rail & Engineering is positioned at the forefront, delivering solutions that advance both national and global mobility.

Our priority remains timely delivery while contributing to India’s infrastructure growth story.”

The awarded scope spans the full design and commissioning of OHE systems, crucial for boosting efficiency, reliability, and safety in railway operations. With the government prioritising electrification, green mobility, and climate-conscious infrastructure, Texmaco will deploy advanced engineering practices, indigenous sourcing, and sustainable technologies.

This achievement further consolidates Texmaco’s leadership in electrification and aligns it strategically with national missions such as Make in India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat. As Indian Railways expands electrification to cut fuel dependence and improve economics, Texmaco is set to play a pivotal role in shaping future-ready rail transport.

RVNL, a premier public sector enterprise (Navratna CPSE) under the Ministry of Railways, drives implementation of major rail infrastructure projects across India and abroad.
