In a first for the Indian automotive industry, JK Tyre &
Industries Ltd, a leader in tyre technology, announced the launch of India’s
first Embedded Smart Tyres for the Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment. This
innovation sets the future of driving, setting a new industry benchmark in
intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility.
Designed and developed in-house at JK Tyre’s Banmore
facility in Madhya Pradesh, the next-generation Smart Tyres feature advanced
sensors embedded within the tyre structure. The technology continuously
monitors critical parameters like air pressure, temperature, and potential air
leaks, providing real-time insights that enhance vehicle safety, performance,
and efficiency.
This development underscores JK Tyre’s commitment to
‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and the ‘Make in India’ vision, reinforcing its
leadership in homegrown technology. The smart tyres also offer longer tread
life, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.

The Embedded Smart Tyres will be available in the aftermarket
through JK Tyre’s dealerships, initially in sizes ranging from 14 to 17 inches.
