Wipro PARI, the industrial automation business of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (a Wipro Enterprises entity), has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Freilassing (Germany) based Hochrainer GmbH.

Hochrainer GmbH, a family-owned company, has been in operations since 1973 and employs around 130 people, said Wipro PARI in a statement. Hochrainer has established itself as an important supplier of automation technology and assembly systems for numerous global automobile manufacturers. It also has a significant presence in other non-automotive sectors and works with key global players in these sectors.

For Wipro PARI, which has around 1,300 employees and a significant global presence, this acquisition represents an important step in the strategic development of the group in Europe. "Our Industrial Automation business has grown significantly in the last four years. This acquisition will further help us expand our Europe presence and consolidate our global leadership position. It will bring significant benefits to customers and long-term future prospects for Wipro Hochrainer," commented Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering.

Dr Ranjit Date, MD & Co-CEO, Wipro PARI, said, “We look forward to further developing Hochrainer as an innovation leader. With this acquisition, we will strengthen our capacity globally, grow our offerings in EV space, and provide a solid base to support the European customers."

G Sundararaman, Co-CEO, Wipro PARI, added, "As a globally operating mechanical and plant engineering company with a strong brand and customer relationships that have grown over decades, Hochrainer fits perfectly into our growth strategy."
