Vertiv expands global manufacturing with state-of-the-art facility in Pune

Vertiv, a leading provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions worldwide, has officially opened a new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, India. This expansion aims to address the escalating demand for data centres and essential infrastructure solutions on a global scale, with a specific focus on India and the APAC region. The newly established plant specializes in the production of thermal management products and solutions designed for colocation, cloud, telecom, and enterprise data centres, serving both domestic and international markets. This marks Vertiv's third facility in India, complementing its existing manufacturing plants in Ambernath and Pune.

Encompassing 4.8 acres (210,000 square feet), the facility is dedicated to manufacturing a comprehensive range of cooling solutions, spanning from 200W to 2MW+. These solutions include adiabatic free cooling chillers, large custom air handling units (AHU), thermal wall units, a new series of large direct expansion (DX), packaged DX, and free cooling with economizer units, as well as a new line of in-row cooling units, wall mount units, and rack cooling systems. Additionally, the facility features cutting-edge psychometric labs for performance testing, a dedicated customer experience centre, and design support capabilities. Situated in an India Green Building Council (IGBC) compliant park, the facility aligns with sustainability principles and emphasizes minimizing environmental impact.

Vertiv CEO Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi commented on the new facility, stating, "Given the escalating global digitization and the rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the data centre industry is witnessing substantial growth and an increased demand for capacity, especially in data centre thermal and power infrastructure. The strategic decision to establish our third manufacturing facility in India is driven by the country's emergence as a data centre hub in the APAC region. This move underscores our commitment to fostering India's data centre ecosystem while addressing the growing global demand."
