Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami disbursed a subsidy amounting to Rs 90 crore to 40 industrial units as part of the Industrial Development Scheme. This initiative, governed by the Central Government's Industrial Development Scheme of 2017, extends a 30% subsidy, capped at Rs 5 crore, on investments made in plant and machinery for manufacturing and service sector units in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Expressing the significance of this scheme in fostering industrial growth within the state, Chief Minister Dhami conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal for their support. Dhami emphasised the state government's persistent efforts to promote industries and announced the upcoming 'Uttarakhand Global Investors Conference' scheduled for December. Notably, preparatory meetings with investor groups in London, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi have resulted in investment agreements totalling around Rs 55,000 crore. Dhami affirmed that during the conference, slated for December 8-9 in Dehradun, the government aims to expedite the implementation of most of these agreements to further boost the industrial sector in Uttarakhand.
