Uno Minda signs agreement with Aisin for sunroof manufacturing

Uno Minda Ltd has signed a technical license agreement with Japan's Aisin Corporation to manufacture and sell vehicle sunroofs in India, targeting the expanding sunroof market. Aisin, a top 10 global Tier-1 automotive supplier, holds the largest market share in the sunroof segment in Japan, offering multi-panel, panoramic, and standard sunroofs.

Driven by technological innovation and evolving consumer demands, the Indian automotive sector has experienced impressive growth. Sunroofs have become a particularly noteworthy trend in this dynamic landscape, according to Nirmal K Minda , Group CMD, Uno Minda.

"Our partnership with Aisin Corporation will enable us to offer a diverse range of sunroofs in India. Combining our expertise and production capabilities, we aim to establish ourselves as leaders in the burgeoning sunroof market," Minda stated.

Noriyuki Kitazato, CEO-Asia Pacific, Aisin remarked, "India's growing automotive landscape, driven by rising affluence and a demand for premium features, presents a compelling market opportunity. This strategic partnership leverages our combined strengths, positioning us to secure a leadership position in the promising sunroof segment."
