TÜV SÜD offers guidance on ISO 9001

Munich, June 2017 – TÜV SÜD has developed a comprehensive guidance for entrepreneurs, consultants, auditors and all those engaged in the establishment, certification and continual improvement of quality management systems (QMS) according to ISO 9001:2015. This guidance interprets and explains the requirements of the standard in order to facilitate its implementation.

The first part of the two-part guidance introduces readers to ISO 9001 and explains aspects such as the standard's terminology and high-level structure in greater detail. Readers are also informed about the key characteristics and requirements of the standard, including the process approach and risk-based thinking. After publication of the new ISO 9001:2015 on 15 September 2015, all currently valid ISO 9001:2008 certificates will expire on 14 September 2018. The guidance therefore also includes the key changes resulting from the transition.

Part two includes practice-focused interpretations of the individual requirements of the standard, examples of audit questions and process records. In this part, readers will find practical advice and recommendations on what to look out for to ensure conformity with the requirements of the standard. The guidance ends with a list of documentation requirements and a summary of the mandatory elements of ISO 9001 which need to be covered in every audit.
