Taichung, Taiwan – June 15, 2016: The TMTS 2016 – Taiwan International Machine Tool Show – will be held from November 23 to 27, 2016 hosted by Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) at the Greater Taichung International Expo Center (GTIEC). TMTS will showcase under an innovative “Exhibition Integrated with Manufacturing Supply Chain” exhibition style, which is highly recognised by exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. The exhibition area is anticipated to be 78,000 sq.m with more than 4,000 booths exhibiting all types of high precision machine tools, components, accessories, tools and automation equipment. There is 8% increase in overall scale and exhibitor number respectively than the last show in 2014.

TMTS 2016 is themed with ‘Activating Intelligent Manufacturing – Heading towards Industry 4.0’, to express the achievement of related advanced products, including sensing technology, machine-to-machine (M2M), data driven decision making, robot-controlled manufacturing, human-robot collaboration, and intelligent control of flexible (customised) manufacturing system, which all are specialized fields of Taiwan machine tool industry.

TMTS 2016 is the largest machine tool show this year, and provides a significant platform for global machine tool manufacturers and consumers. The order amount is expected to be over USD 250 million with transaction size surpassing the last show.

Taiwan is one of the major producing and consuming markets for global machine tools. There are more than 1,600 manufacturers in Taiwan machine tool supply chain, and nearly 90 % of these manufacturers are concentrated in the Greater Taichung area. Taichung is not only a major base in global machine tool manufacturing, but also a major consuming market in machine tools and other mechanical equipment. In 2014 Taiwan was ranked the 4th machine tool exporting country in the world. Inside the 60 km radius of the Taichung machine tool cluster, the best engineering solutions are available for global machine users from industries of moulds, hand tools, bicycle, automobile and motorcycle parts, metalworking and all kinds of machinery.

TMTS is held at Taichung, which takes advantage of being close to the sales market and easy transportation, expecting to attract over 75,000 visitors. To provide optimal service for visitors and buyers from all over the world, the organiser will offer a series of events, such as new product release, purchasing conference, factory visit and free city tour. With these services, foreign visitors and buyers are able to attend the show and experience Taiwan's industrial dynamism at the same time.
