Suzlon Energy secures 100.8 MW wind project

Suzlon Energy witnessed a 3% surge in its shares during early trading on December 15, following the company's successful bid to develop a 100.8 MW wind power project for a global utility firm. The project, situated in Gujarat, will feature 32 wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular tower, each boasting a rated capacity of 3.15 MW as part of Suzlon's 3 MW series.
Suzlon's responsibilities encompass the entire project lifecycle, including supply, supervision, commissioning, and post-commissioning operation and maintenance services.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, highlighted the significance of the Suzlon 3 MW series, stating that it represents the next stage of evolution in technology tailored for the Indian wind regime. The 3.15 MW turbines, among the largest in the country, are expected to contribute to India's carbon neutrality goals.
The government's recent approval for Suzlon's 3 MW - 3.15 MW wind turbine series marked a crucial step towards its commercialization, further solidifying the company's position in the market. Despite a marginal decrease in revenue to Rs 1,417 crore in Q2 compared to Rs 1,430 crore in the same period last year, Suzlon Energy reported a notable increase in net profit, reaching Rs 102.29 crore in the September quarter, up from Rs 56.47 crore in the previous fiscal.
