She replaced Ashwath Ram, who has resigned as MD, Director, and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), as he will be assuming a full-time global role with Cummins Inc., USA. He will relinquish his position on August 31, 2024, along with his respective committee positions as well.

The Board of Directors of Cummins India Limited has approved the appointment of Shveta Arya as Managing Director (MD), designate with effect from August 8, 2024. Further, she will take over with effect from September 1, 2024, for a term of three years, subject to the approval of the members of the company.

She replaced Ashwath Ram, who has resigned as MD, Director, and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), as he will be assuming a full-time global role with Cummins Inc., USA. He will relinquish his position on August 31, 2024, along with his respective committee positions as well. He was reappointed as MD on August 17, 2022, for a term of three years.

Shveta Arya currently leads the power system business unit for Cummins India Ltd., where she focusses on driving growth and enhancing the market presence for the power generation and industrial businesses in Indian as well as global markets. Arya spearheaded the launch of the CPCB IV+ range of products for the Powergen market in India. In her previous role, she was the distribution business leader for Cummins in India for over five years. 

In the past, she has also served as the strategy leader for Cummins in India. Prior to joining Cummins, she worked at Thomas Cook India. She has over 20 years of industry and consulting experience across automotive, travel, financial services, and telecom. She has been associated with organisations such as Kearney and Infosys previously. She holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) and a Bachelor’s in Engineering (BE) in Information Technology from Delhi University.
