Second edition of LogiMAT India 2025 inaugurated

The backbone of India's development and fulfilling the vision of a $5 trillion economy, India’s logistics sector is witnessing unprecedented growth driven by dedicated government policies and public-private partnerships. At the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, Dr Anbalagan IAS, Secretary of the Industries Department for the Government of Maharashtra, inaugurated the second edition of LogiMAT India 2025, the world’s largest logistics and infrastructure satellite show.

As the landscape of India's logistics sector evolves, the potential for attracting substantial investments becomes increasingly evident. In an extensive survey and interactive session with more than 150 industry leaders at LogiMAT India platform, this industry survey projects investments of $4 billion in India’s logistics sector in the next three years. Although the LogiMAT India team expects this number to be much higher considering the promising logistics landscape in India and global leadership that the country is soon going to claim. Aligning closely with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of positioning India as a global logistics hub, LogiMAT India 2025 aims to enhance India’s logistics capabilities, foster growth, and improve its global standing.

Shankar Shinde, Managing Director, Global Express Multilogistics, Chairman International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations, I P Chairman, Federation of Freight Forwarders Association in India and V Chairman, Maharashtra Chambers of Commerce, Trade, Industry & Agriculture, Sascha Schmel, Managing Director Material Handling and Intralogistics, VDMA, Bernhard Müller, Vice President, Messe Stuttgart and Director, Messe Stuttgart India and Aditya Gupta, CEO, Messe Stuttgart India were also present at the inaugural session of the event.

While addressing the inaugural ceremony, Dr Anbalagan IAS, Secretary of the Industries Department for the Government of Maharashtra emphasised, “We have recently allocated 400 acres to a company, which is expected to begin construction in approximately 3 to 4 years. This project will involve an investment of around 3 billion USD in Ratnagiri. The Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg region has great potential, particularly in agricultural products like mangoes and cashews, as well as marine products, which could establish it as a significant logistics hub. Additionally, we can develop around 15 to 20 nodes along the Samruti corridor from Nagpur to Mumbai. This means that if you are looking to invest in logistics over the next 10 years, there will be no need to go beyond Maharashtra, as the scale of work available will be substantial within the state.”

Bernhard Müller, Vice President, Messe Stuttgart and Director, Messe Stuttgart India emphasised, “During the fiscal year 2023-24, India's trade relationship with Germany amounted to over US$ 26.10 billion, with Indian exports totaling US$ 9.83 billion. Meanwhile, imports from Germany hit US$ 16.27 billion. Germany shares close economic and trade ties with India. Leveraging India's geographic position, Messe Stuttgart India aims to enhance trade routes and strengthen its role in global supply chains through LogiMAT India 2025.”

Aditya Gupta, CEO, Messe Stuttgart India stated, “As a key player in the ongoing transformation of the country’s logistics, supply chain, and warehousing sectors, it is all set to foster the sector in establishing India as a global manufacturing powerhouse. Bringing together industry leaders to network with peers, explore new business opportunities, expand into new markets, and enhance brand visibility, it seeks to revolutionise the logistics landscape in India through cutting-edge technologies in warehouse automation, smart delivery systems, and supply chain management.”

More than 200 brands, including industry pioneers like Addverb, Craftsman Automation, System Logistics, Tata Motors, Godrej Korber, Anscer Robotics, Armstrong Dematic, and many more, are set to unveil 250+ cutting-edge technologies at the exhibition.
