Sandvik Asia conducted a workshop on Deep Hole Drilling technology from 4-6th July 2011 at Precihole Machine Tools, Thane. With the recent increase in demand of this specialised technology, particularly in power, nuclear, aerospace and wind power sectors, Sandvik decided to train Precihole's all India sales team with the idea that they can address their customers' requirements more appropriately. At the programme, members were exposed to various aspects of this technology.

The event started on 4th July 2011 at Sandvik Asia Pune, where the members were briefed about the various factors in tools and accessories selection, parameter selection, factors affecting tool life, how to suggest an apt solution to the customers, etc. Mr Ravi Naik, DGM - Technical Projects, and Mr Chaitra, Sr Product Specialist - Drilling Tools, who are highly experienced in this field, conducted the initial training. The tooling part of the programme was an intensive 2-day seminar. The last day of the course was planned to be more on the deep hole drilling systems part of the technology where the members would actually see the deep hole drilling process in action. For this, Sandvik India approached Precihole Machine Tools Pvt Ltd, the leading manufacturer of Deep Hole Drilling Machines and SPMs in India.

A whole day was planned at Precihole where members would gain not only theoretical knowledge of the systems but could also see live action. The event started at 11:30 am with Mr Azhar Qazi, welcoming the Sandvik team. He also gave a brief introduction of the company and its three business verticals, viz., Machine Tool Manufacturing, Precision Component Manufacturing and Deep Hole Drilling Services.
