Signalling a major advancement in India’s renewable energy sector, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited (SSIPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Saatvik Green Energy Limited (SGEL), held the groundbreaking ceremony for its new 4.00 GW solar PV module manufacturing facility today. The facility is being developed on land sub-leased from Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) out of a total 57-acre plot located along National Highway – 16, Chama Khandi, Gopalpur Industrial Park, Gopalpur, Ganjam – 761 020, Odisha, India.

The project, part of SGEL’s expansion under SSIPL, is set to become a major pillar of the company’s strategic growth.

“To maintain and enhance our leadership in the renewable energy sector, we are pursuing a strategy that integrates capacity expansion with value-added services. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of solar energy manufacturing and EPC solutions while meeting the rising demand from domestic and international markets. A key part of this vision is the scaling up of production. We are in the advanced stages of establishing a 4.80 GW integrated solar cell and 4.00 GW module manufacturing facility in Odisha, targeted for commissioning by the end of Fiscal 2027 and Fiscal 2026, respectively. Additionally, we are adding 1.00 GW capacity at one of our existing module facilities in Ambala, expected to be operational in the first quarter of Fiscal 2026. Upon completion, our total manufacturing capacity will stand at 4.80 GW for cells and 8.80 GW for integrated cell and module manufacturing across Ambala and Odisha. This expansion will greatly strengthen our production capabilities and better position us to address growing demand for premium solar modules. It reflects our continued commitment to technological investment and scaling operations to support the renewable energy transition,” said Prashant Mathur, CEO, SGEL.

This landmark expansion reaffirms Saatvik’s long-term pledge to contribute to India’s clean energy ambitions through enhanced Make-in-India solar manufacturing.

Headquartered in Gurugram, SGEL is one of India’s top solar module manufacturers, with an operational capacity of approximately 3.80 GW as of 28 February 2025. The company offers Mono PERC and N-TopCon modules, EPC solutions, and operations and maintenance services.
