Diversified conglomerate, Punj Lloyd has announced receiving the SICCI-DBS India Enterprise Award from the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) for making significant contributions to Singapore's socio-economic development coupled with its exceptional drive, vision and commitment to support Singapore's growth and progress.

The Group ventured into Singapore in 2005 with the Bulk Liquid Product Terminal project for Horizon Terminals Pvt Ltd at the Jurong Island, and has achieved growth and progress over the years through exceptional business practices. Punj Lloyd has also developed strategic partnerships and made significant investment in Singapore. In 2006, Punj Lloyd acquired Sembawang Engineers and Constructors, further cementing its infrastructure offering with the addition of newer verticals of airports, expressways, jetties, underground tunnels, MRT and LRT.

Today, a large quantum of its urban infrastructure projects is being executed by Sembawang. These include MRT stations, integrated resorts for entertainment hubs, expressways and buildings, among others. With its focus on creating quality infrastructure, the Group has integrated safe practices as its work ethos, winning several awards including the 'bizSAFE STAR' status received from the Workplace Health and Safety Council (WSHC), Singapore. Sembawang was also one of the companies that signed a leadership charter 'Pledge for Zero - A CEO Committee Charter'. Jointly organised by MOM and WSH Council of Singapore, this was a significant event in Singapore's construction industry, with major players coming together to help realise the vision for 'zero injury work sites'.

The SICCI-DBS India Enterprise Award was received by Sachin Sheth, CFO - Sembawang Engineers and Constructors, on behalf of Punj Lloyd Group from the President of Singapore, Dr. Tony Tan.
