Optiemus Electronics begins manufacturing telecom gear for Tejas Networks

This move aligns with the government’s push for state-owned BSNL to use indigenous telecom equipment for its 4G networks.
Optiemus Electronics, a contract manufacturer, has commenced the production of telecom equipment for Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, under the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme. The products being manufactured at Optiemus's Noida facility include 4G baseband units, remote radio heads, optical network terminals, broadband switches, and routers.
A Gururaj, Managing Director, Optiemus Electronics, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, "It is a momentous occasion as we expand our manufacturing capabilities to enter the growing telecom equipment sector."
This move aligns with the government’s push for state-owned BSNL to use indigenous telecom equipment for its 4G networks. V Sembian, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Tejas Networks, highlighted the significance of the partnership, noting, "Tejas has long been a leader in indigenous telecom equipment design and manufacturing in India. Partnering with Optiemus will further bolster domestic production of telecom products, advancing our goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat."
