NAMTECH and TUM Asia celebrate first smart manufacturing graduates

NAMTECH (New Age Makers' Institute of Technology), Gandhinagar, and TUM Asia, the Singapore campus of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), celebrated a major milestone with the graduation of the first cohort of their joint International Professional Master’s Program (iPMP) in smart manufacturing.

The one-year, fully residential iPMP, launched for engineering graduates (B.E./B.Tech), is tailored for the Industry 4.0 landscape. It equips learners with practical expertise in automation, Industrial IoT, Digital Twin, robotics, and advanced production technologies, offering a future-ready skillset backed by experiential learning and industry collaboration.

Following this success, NAMTECH and TUM Asia have announced three new iPMP programs set to begin in August 2025:
Sustainability Engineering & Management
Semiconductor Manufacturing
Advanced Robotics Technology

These new offerings will continue the focus on hands-on, industry-aligned education, ensuring graduates gain both technical depth and leadership capabilities needed for emerging high-tech sectors.

Partnership for India’s manufacturing growth
The NAMTECH-TUM Asia collaboration reflects a strategic commitment to addressing India’s talent gap in advanced manufacturing. By merging TUM’s globally recognised academic excellence with NAMTECH’s strong industry connections, the partnership aims to nurture a new generation of highly skilled professionals.

“The graduation of our first cohort is a testament to the strength of this collaboration,” said Dr Markus Wachter, Managing Director, TUM Asia. “As we launch new programs, we reaffirm our mission to prepare students for success in the global manufacturing industry.”

ArunKumar Pillai, Director General, NAMTECH, added, “NAMTECH is evolving as a platform institution for experiential learning in the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Technology (MET) space. Together with TUM, we are creating world-class professionals who will lead India’s future in high-tech manufacturing.”

NAMTECH continues to position itself at the forefront of India’s MET ecosystem by championing innovation, modular learning, and global partnerships that empower young technologists for the future.
