Major companies vie for India's Green Hydrogen, Electrolyser incentives

Fourteen companies, including Reliance Industries, JSW Energy, Torrent Power, and Bharat Petroleum Corp, have submitted bids for incentives under India's green hydrogen initiative, as reported by a government agency. Additionally, twenty firms, such as Reliance Industries, Adani Group, Jindal India, Larsen & Toubro, and Bharat Heavy Electricals, have presented bids for incentives related to the manufacturing of electrolysers, according to statements from the Solar Energy Corp of India. The bids for both categories were unveiled on Friday. India initiated the $2 billion program in July to stimulate green hydrogen production and electrolyser manufacturing. The bids revealed an interest in producing 0.55 million metric tons of green hydrogen, surpassing the invited 0.45 million tons. Companies like Acme Cleantech, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen, CESC, Greenko ZeroC, and Avaada GreenH2 participated in these bids. Furthermore, bids for 3.4 gigawatts (GW) of electrolyser manufacturing capacity were received against the invitation for 1.5 GW. Other contenders in the electrolyser category include Waaree Energies, Ohmium Operations, Advait Infratech, and Acme Cleantech Solutions. India aims to achieve an annual green hydrogen production capacity of 5 million tons by 2030.
