MAHLE finalises OEM thermostat business sale to BTT Solutions

MAHLE has completed the sale of its OEM thermostat business effective May 2, 2024. The sale involves transferring the thermostat segment to ADMETOS, an industrial and investment holding firm, which will operate it under the name BTT Solutions. Around 600 employees across six countries will transition to ADMETOS as part of the deal. However, the sale does not affect the distribution of thermostats under the MAHLE and Behr brands in the spare parts and accessories market, which will still be managed by the global MAHLE Aftermarket network.

“In ADMETOS, we have found an owner that offers both the company and its employees a stable, promising outlook. I would like to thank all employees in the thermostat product area,” said Jumana Al-Sibai, Member, MAHLE Management Board and responsible for the thermal management business unit.

This move aligns with MAHLE's new strategy, which prioritizes electrification, thermal management systems, and cost leadership in components for efficient combustion engines. As a result, the thermostat product group no longer fits into MAHLE's strategic focus on OEM business segments.
