Linde India commissions new air separation unit in Ludhiana

Linde India has commissioned a new 250 metric tonnes per day air separation unit (ASU) at Ludhiana, Punjab, marking its second merchant plant in northern India after Selaqui, Uttarakhand. This new facility more than doubles Linde India's total merchant capacity in the region.

Located within the Hi-Tech Cycle Valley Park at Dhanansu, the new ASU will cater to the growing demand for medical oxygen, industrial oxygen, nitrogen, and argon across various sectors, including healthcare, semiconductor, steel, metals, pharmaceuticals, paper, automotive, and manufacturing. The unit will also support nearby industries through a dedicated gas pipeline network.

“Industrial gases are crucial for almost every sector in India,” said Abhijit Banerjee, Managing Director, Linde India. He added that as the Indian economy continues to grow and diversify, Linde is proud to support both traditional markets like metals and manufacturing, as well as emerging sectors such as electronics, space research, defense, healthcare, and solar energy. "Linde's products, technology, and expertise are helping make our customers more productive and sustainable," Banerjee emphasised.
