Klüber Lubrication, a global leader in specialty lubricants, is thrilled to announce a significant expansion of its operations facility in Mysore, slated to be fully operational by early 2027. The current manufacturing plant, spanning 17000 sqm, already produces top-notch specialty lubricants. The recent investment of Rs.1.42 billion, will reaffirm its commitment to ‘Make in India’ by boosting domestic production.

The upgraded plant will boast a state-of-the-art production facility tailored to Klüber Lubrication's specialised requirements. As part of these investments, Klüber will acquire new certifications like IATF (for automotive customers) and ISO 21469 (for food grade lubricants), while enhancing R&D infrastructure and expediting the introduction of new products to market. Leveraging these enhancements, Klüber Lubrication aims to ramp up its operations, introduce high-value product lines, and facilitate the seamless transition of global products to better serve its clientele.

The groundbreaking ceremony, graced by members from the Freudenberg Chemical Specialities and Klüber Boards, along with the Klüber India leadership team, marked the commencement of this transformative project in Mysore.

Hitendra Bhargava, CEO and Regional Management Board Member Asia Pacific, Klüber Lubrication, emphasised the transformative impact of this expansion, stating, "By integrating a new production hall and world class infrastructure, we aim is to offer state-of-the-art speciality products which will be locally manufactured. Ultimately, this initiative is in sync with the self-reliance India mission (Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan) launched by the Government of India. This investment helps us to be closer and faster to our customers not just in India, but in the entire APAC region.

The Mysore expansion reinstates the commitment to sustainability, with solar panels installed on the roof generating over half of the plant's energy from renewable sources. In 2024, Klüber Lubrication was honoured with the prestigious EcoVadis gold medal for sustainability for the third consecutive time, placing it among the top 5 per cent of companies rated worldwide for sustainability.
