Jindal (India) Limited, part of the BC Jindal Group and a leading downstream steel products manufacturers in India, has announced that it has set up additional colour-coated manufacturing capacity, enabling improved service to the country’s high-end white goods manufacturers. The company expects a 20 per cent jump in its revenue in the current financial year. 

Jindal (India) Limited will supply premium coated steel sheets through its Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) channel partners to cater to the requirements of leading white goods industry brands, including LG, Whirlpool, and Godrej, to name a few Jindal (India) Limited’s premium sheet offering will be used in the manufacturing of goods like washing machines, air conditioners, and other home appliances. 

“This move is in line with our endeavor to establish a strong presence in India’s fast-growing white goods market and further strengthen our presence across key industries in the country. In our premium product portfolio, colour-coated steel sheets currently account for around 70 per cent of total sales volume. We expect this segment’s contribution to increase further, reaching nearly 75 per cent by FY26. Our steel product manufacturing prowess, coupled with our partners' expertise in servicing OEM customers, will ensure high-quality and reliable products for the white goods industry,” said a Jindal (India) spokesperson. 

Earlier this month, Jindal (India) Limited announced the commissioning of 0.6 million MT of downstream steel capacity expansion at its manufacturing facilities in West Bengal. The commencement of commissioning of the new cold rolling complex marks the completion of a major part of the expansion. This capacity expansion will lead to a 60 per cent increase over the company’s existing 1 million MT per annum capacity. With an investment of Rs 15 billion, the company expects to achieve a significant increase in its sales revenue in the coming years.  

The consumer durables industry in India is experiencing robust growth. According to CII, the Indian market is projected to become the fourth-largest globally by 2027. In addition, the sector is also benefiting from the government’s initiatives, such as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme.  

Jindal (India) Limited has two state-of-the-art factories located at Howrah, West Bengal, and its capabilities include advanced colour-coating, galvanising, and galvalume technologies. The company offers a comprehensive range of products across three major divisions that include sheets, pipes, and aluminum foil. With brands like Jindal Sabrang and Jindal NeuColour+, Jindal (India) Limited dominates the colour-coated sheets market, particularly in Eastern India, and maintains a significant presence across the country.  

The company also secured the Letter of Approval (LoA), through its wholly owned subsidiary, Jindal India Steel Tech Limited (JISTL), for setting up a greenfield steel manufacturing plant in Dhenkanal, Odisha. Jindal (India) Limited’s JISTL will invest Rs 36 billion in the first phase of the project and a total of Rs 150 billion in the state, in three phases, by 2030.
