Isuzu Motors India has reached a major milestone, producing 100,000 vehicles at its advanced manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. This achievement underscores the company’s growing commitment to the Indian market and its expanding presence in the country’s automotive sector. The milestone vehicle, an Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, was celebrated for its enduring popularity, known for its robust performance and reliability.

The event was attended by Dr N Yuvaraj, Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Industries, Commerce & Food Processing Department, as the chief guest, along with Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director, Sri City, and Makoto Sado, Chairman, Sri City Japanese Company Group.

Isuzu’s journey in India began in 2016 with the establishment of its Sri City facility. In 2020, the company further expanded operations by launching a shop and engine assembly plant under Phase II. Since then, over 1.4 million pressed parts have been produced, reflecting the facility's growing manufacturing capacity.

In the passenger vehicle segment, Isuzu offers the premium MU-X SUV, priced at Rs 3.7 million, and the popular D-Max V-Cross pickup truck, starting at Rs 2.551 million (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company also serves the commercial vehicle market with models such as the S-Cab and D-Max, meeting diverse customer needs.

Rajesh Mittal, President & Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, highlighted the company’s achievements, noting that around 22% of its production workforce is composed of talented women, demonstrating a commitment to diversity and inclusion. He also emphasised that 100% of the production workforce are diploma engineers, ensuring the production of world-class vehicles that adhere to Isuzu’s global manufacturing standards. This commitment has made Isuzu the leading exporter of commercial vehicles from India.
The company remains focused on providing high-quality products and services both in India and internationally.
