Honeywell to transform Deepak Fertilizers’ Taloja plant into a smart factory

Pune, Maharashtra

Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) announced that Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL) had selected Honeywell technologies to convert their Taloja facility in Maharashtra into a Smart Factory.

Honeywell delivered industrial cybersecurity solutions, secured remote operations and a multi-year enabled service maintenance program with Honeywell Forge health dashboard. These solutions helped DFPCL improve the efficiency and productivity of their operations and maintenance while being protected by the highest level of cybersecurity.

Honeywell also provided DFPCL with Managed Security Services, which will reduce the risk and impact of cyber-related disruptions and enable safer management of pivotal elements of their industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT).

Honeywell also worked closely with DFPCL to develop a comprehensive maintenance program. Honeywell Enabled Services, powered by Honeywell Forge, will allow DFPCL to drive maintenance with a connected, predictive solution that combines advanced software and Honeywell’s domain knowledge on ICS. The program will deliver actionable insights on how to maintain system health, prioritise resources and amplify performance.

Ashish Gaikwad, Managing Director, Honeywell Automation India Limited, said, “It’s our priority to continue offering customised solutions to fulfil our customers’ needs. We are committed to understanding our customers’ pain points in relation to preventive maintenance and the health of the control system. Our focus is currently on enabling remote operations at DFPCL’s Taloja facility and converting it into a Smart Factory. The win has given us a strong reference and platform to showcase the value of our digital technologies, solve challenges that our customers face in real-time, and ensure consistent levels of high performance for their day-to-day operations.”

DFPCL is one of India’s leading producers of industrial chemicals and fertilisers and has manufacturing facilities in Srikakulam (Andhra Pradesh), Panipat (Haryana), and Dahej (Gujarat) besides Taloja. DFPCL selected Honeywell for their strong maintenance record, technology offering, high level of safety and reliable security solutions and distinctiveness in the Smart Factories space.
