LOPE-C, the largest conference and exhibition for organic and printed electronics, takes place the first time in Munich from June 19-21, 2012. The event is being organized as a close strategic partnership by Messe M?nchen and the OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association). Already at this stage - eight months before the start - the level of bookings is positive: there is great interest in both the trade show and the conference.

According to a recent report by Frost & Sullivan entitled "Impact of 2020 Megatrends on Chemicals", organic electronics is a megatrend, which will have a long-term impact on the economy, politics, culture and our personal lives. OE-A and Messe M?nchen recognized this trend early on and for years have been paying great attention to the field of organic and printed electronics, including it in many events. The growing significance of the sector is reflected in the figures quoted in a report by Markets and Markets, which forecasts that sales in organic and printed electronics will increase by over 100 percent by 2015 to around 25 billion US dollars.

"Organic electronics is a market with great potential for the future, and it will acquire a firm place in our lives, for example on intelligent labels on food packaging or solar cells integrated in windows. One very recent application for organic and printed electronics can be seen in e-book readers and touch screens," said Wolfgang Mildner, Managing Director of PolyIC GmbH & Co. "With the continuing improvements in printing and manufacturing technology combined with more cost-effective materials, the number of possible applications is virtually unlimited. In order to illustrate the many diverse areas of application, to showcase what production options are available and to foster intensive dialogue in the field, what organic and printed electronics needs is a strong events partner. And it has found this in Messe M?nchen GmbH."
