GX Group targets 60% reusable materials in products by 2026

Broadband equipment maker GX Group has set an ambitious target to incorporate 60% reusable materials across all its products within the next two years, according to Paritosh Prajapat, CEO. Prajapati highlighted India's potential to become the world’s second-largest fibre broadband market with 110 million active fibre lines by 2030, underscoring the environmental impact challenges in telecom infrastructure.
“With India’s climate targets aiming for net-zero emissions by 2070 and the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) mandating strict emissions controls, we are committed to embedding sustainability by using 60% reusable materials across our products by 2026,” Prajapati told the source.
A participant in India’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, GX Group recently became the first company in India to launch WiFi routers and GPON ONTs (high-capacity optical fibre network modems) made from recycled and biodegradable materials under its 'Ecoverse' initiative.

Prajapati added that the company’s environmental initiatives are in line with India’s climate objectives and the Swachh Bharat mission.
Founded in 2002 and rebranded from Genexis, GX Group expanded across India by 2013 following its acquisition of Ericsson’s end-user equipment division in Sweden.
