GrindTec, Intec and Z: Creating value as a trade fair trio

After the previous edition of the industrial trade fairs Intec and Z had to be held entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, preparations are now in full swing for the trade fairs to take place on-site from March 7 – 10, 2023 at Leipziger Messe. Furthermore, the successful trade fair duo is becoming a trio. GrindTec, the international trade fair for tool grinding and tool machining, will be held parallel with Intec and Z as of next year. The trade fair trio Intec, Z and GrindTec will be the first important get-together in Europe in 2023 for the metal working, subcontracting and machine tool industries.

"Intec and Z are back and can finally take place on-site and in full strength again on their well-established dates in the trade-fair calendar at the beginning of the odd years. This means that providers and users throughout the metalworking industry as well as its suppliers will be able to engage in personal dialogue at our trade fairs in March 2023 where investment decisions will be made and projects moved forward,” explained Markus Geisenberger, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe.

“Another plus point for our exhibitors and visitors is that the internationally leading trade fair GrindTec is starting with us as the new organiser and will in future enrich our trade fair combination Intec and Z, which has been very successful for many years. With the world of tool grinding and tool machining, GrindTec further enhances the excellent range of products and services offered by the trade fair combination,” added Geisenberger.

The strong trade fair brand GrindTec takes off in Leipzig under the motto "By users for users". Prof Dr Wilfried Saxler, Managing Director of Fachverband der Präzisionswerkzeugmechaniker e V (Association of German Precision Tool Grinders, FDPW), said, “The 'new' GrindTec will be focusing on everything surrounding the art of precision tool grinding from tool development, processing and manufacturing, to grinding, sharpening, repairing, measuring and coating to digital support. By developing the GrindTec concept and joining forces with Intec and Z, we've created true added value. On the one hand, visitors can now benefit from visiting all three trade fairs and their exhibitors with a single admission ticket, and on the other hand, our exhibitors can look forward to additional valuable contacts with visitors of Intec and Z." The FDPW is and remains responsible for the GrindTec concept and programme.

Innovative products and the latest developments in manufacturing technology for metal working, automation technology for upstream and downstream processes in production, but also technology and equipment for workshops and plants are the focus of the Intec. Embedded in an environment characterised by the manufacturing industry, mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive industry and renowned research institutions, the trade fair is an efficient, practice-oriented platform for both globally active industry leaders and solution-oriented SMEs from all over Germany and Europe. Despite the relatively short preparation time, many companies have already registered for the upcoming Intec, including BIMATEC SORALUCE, CERATIZIT, EMAG, EMUGE, FANUC, GROB-WERKE, Gühring, HEDELIUS, Hermle, Igus, INDEX-Werke, MAPAL, NILES-SIMMONS, OKUMA, Paul Horn, Profiroll Technologies, SEW, SCHUNK, TRUMPF and ZOLLER.

Preparations for the subcontracting fair are likewise moving forward at full speed. In March of next year, Z will once again offer the perfect platform for suppliers to position themselves in the market, particularly those supplying the intermediate stages of production. With innovative ideas and sophisticated products, suppliers will present an exhibition tailored to the needs of the industry. Visitors to the trade fair Z can learn about everything from the tiniest component to production technology for the processing industry as well as full assemblies.

Conference to provide practical solutions

In addition to the attractive range of exhibits at Intec, Z and GrindTec 2023, this international trade fair trio will also include a conference programme designed to provide inspiration for real-world industry issues. Experts at the special exhibition and trade forum entitled "Additive Manufacturing – Evolution of a modern technology" will shed light on the dynamic process of integrating additive manufacturing into industrial production. The special exhibition and trade forum "Sensor technology - use and perspectives in manufacturing" will focus on various topics including new concepts for this key technology in both established and developing production methods and the demands it faces. "Fuel Cell Hub" is another subject that will be addressed by the trade fair trio. A collective stand including a professional colloquium will provide the ideal framework for discussions surrounding practical fuel cell applications.

With various theme worlds, the GrindTec will once again present itself in its many facets of tool machining. For example, specialist lectures and presentations of trade fair innovations will be offered in the GrindTec Forum. In addition, the exciting competition for Tool Grinder of the Year will take place. Visitors can also look forward to news from the research at the GrindTec Campus. A special highlight will be the GrindTec Innovation Award, which will be presented for the second time.
