Grew Energy to build 3.2 GW capacity manufacturing facility in J&K

Grew Energy Pvt Ltd, a prominent venture of the Chiripal Group, is poised to establish a state-of-the-art three-stage fully backward integrated manufacturing unit in Jammu & Kashmir. With an investment commitment of Rs 45 billion, upon completion, this advanced facility will boast an annual capacity to produce 3.2GW high-efficiency modules and 2.8GW ingots, wafers, and cells.

Being India's pioneer renewable energy player to set up a manufacturing facility in Jammu state, Grew will position its high-tech facility in Kathua, adhering to international standards with cutting-edge automated machinery. This milestone makes Grew the first solar company in India to possess such distinctive technology and manufacturing prowess.

A groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of construction at the facility, attended by Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of Grew Energy, Hardip Singh – COO of Grew Energy, and other dignitaries from the Chiripal Group, including VedPrakash Chiripal, JyotiPrasad Chiripal, JaiPrakash Chiripal, and Brijmohan Chiripal.

Grew has embarked on a mission to reshape Jammu & Kashmir's economic landscape by selecting Kathua as the site for its second manufacturing unit. Spanning across 80 acres, this facility will cater to the escalating solar demands of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, neighbouring states, and the nation. Moreover, it will drive positive societal impact by fostering community empowerment, enhancing employment prospects, and nurturing the state's youth.

Reflecting on the groundbreaking ceremony, Vinay Thadani, CEO & Director, Grew Energy, expressed gratitude to the Government for its support and welcomed this transformative endeavour. He emphasised , “As we embark on this transformative journey, we at Grew are grateful to the Government for the welcome and being so supportive. The new plant will not only add to the socio-economic development of the state but it will also play a pivotal role in meeting India’s net zero target. It will also help in creating employment opportunities for the people of Jammu & Kashmir. With establishment of our Kathua facility and our existing 2.8GW module manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Grew will achieve a total of 6GW manufacturing capacity for modules and 2.8GW for solar components by FY25.”

Leveraging futuristic technology and a skilled workforce, Grew, a burgeoning sustainable company, aims to deliver top-notch quality products and emerge as a self-reliant manufacturer of high-end Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) modules by March 2025. Committed to bolstering renewable infrastructure, Grew envisions India as the next renewable superpower of the world.
