GOI launches E-platform to connect exporters, MSMEs with stakeholders

The government is developing a new e-platform aimed at linking Indian exporters, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs with key stakeholders, including Indian missions abroad, export promotion councils, and other government agencies. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada announced this initiative in a written response to the Lok Sabha.

The trade connect e-platform will offer valuable information on global trade events, the benefits of India's free trade agreements (FTAs), and other international trade data. Prasada highlighted that this platform is designed to facilitate better connectivity and access to relevant trade information.

Additionally, Prasada noted that districts such as Jamnagar, Kanchipuram, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Kachchh are experiencing strong export growth. For the period of April-May this fiscal year, Jamnagar led with exports totaling $10 billion, followed by Kanchipuram at $3.27 billion, Mumbai at $2.24 billion, Pune at $2.14 billion, Kachchh at $2 billion, and Surat at $1.98 billion.

In response to a separate query, Prasada mentioned that the proposal for an 80% concession for women entrepreneurs and a 50% concession for MSMEs in licensing fees from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) is currently under consideration by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
