Giovanni Valent appointed Managing Director, Atlas Copco (India) Ltd

Pune, September 13, 2015: Atlas Copco has recently appointed Giovanni Valent as Managing Director of Atlas Copco (India) Ltd. In his new mission, Giovanni will be responsible for the company’s operations in India and Bangladesh.

Giovanni Valent, an Italian citizen, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan. In 1989, Giovanni joined The Robbins Company, a tunnel boring equipment manufacturer in USA. He was promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager for South Europe and North Africa before the company was acquired by Atlas Copco. In 1997 he was promoted as a General Manager for all business areas in Argentina, followed by Regional Manager for the Maghreb area in 2001, then Regional Manager in 2004 for Greece, Cyprus, Israel and Albania. In 2009, he was General Manager for Compress Technique division in Italy, where he has successfully developed Atlas Copco’s business and local team.

Giovanni has a strong background in large international projects like metro system, hydroelectric power plants, and specialised hydroelectric tunnelling system with turning boring equipment.
