Genrobotics' G Gaiter AI Robotic Trainer Clinches Top Honour at GPAI Summit 2023

Genrobotics, a startup hailing from Kerala and renowned for its impactful use of technology in driving social change, has earned recognition as one of the top three Artificial Intelligence (AI) startups in India. This acknowledgment took place at the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023, organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in New Delhi.

During the summit held from December 12 to 14 at Bharat Mandapam, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Genrobotics' G-gaiter Robotic Technology secured the prestigious 'AI Game Changers' award. S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, presented the award to Afsal Muttikkal, Regional Director of Genrobotics Medical and Mobility, and Arun Dominic, Regional Business Development Manager.

The accolade was conferred in recognition of Genrobotics' exceptional innovation in healthcare, specifically for its development of G Gaiter—a sophisticated AI-powered robotic gait trainer. G Gaiter plays a crucial role in training individuals who have experienced mobility loss due to conditions such as stroke, spinal injury, accidents, Parkinson's disease, and similar ailments, facilitating faster recovery with reduced dependence on others.

Afsal Muttikkal highlighted the rapid success of G Gaiter, emphasising its effectiveness as a rehabilitation tool for those facing mobility challenges. Furthermore, Genrobotics received the Medicall Made in India Innovation 2023 Golden Award for G Gaiter in July of the same year.

Genrobotics has established collaborations with prominent hospital chains in India, including Aster, to integrate the G Gaiter robotic gait trainer into their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation departments. Notably, the technology has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, the national regulator for medical devices, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

In a recent development, the General Hospital in the region became the first government hospital in the country to deploy G Gaiter. Additionally, the state government is planning to introduce G Gaiter at its medical college hospitals in Kozhikode, Thrissur, and Kottayam.
