G&B launches Rs 1 billion AI-driven washing machine production facility in Pune

Godrej & Boyce has inaugurated a new production facility for its latest range of fully automatic front-loads washing machines, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The facility, which represents an investment of Rs 1 billion, covers machinery, tools, infrastructure, and backward integration.
Located in Shirwal near Pune, the facility spans 100,000 sq. ft. and is set to add a capacity of 300,000 units annually.
"The new AI-enabled product range highlights our dedication to innovation tailored to the needs of Indian consumers," said Kamal Nandi, Business Head and Executive Vice President, Godrej Appliances. "Currently, we are one of the fastest-growing brands in the washing machine category. With this Rs 1 billion investment, we are set to further strengthen our market position and aim for 2X growth in the washing machine segment this year."
